Grammy Awards Nominations and Telecast Date Set for Move to ABC
The Grammy Awards (https://variety.com/t/grammy-awards/) will be held on February 7, 2027, as the ceremony moves to ABC (https://variety.com/t/abc/) and Hulu in the U.S. after more than 50 years on CBS.
Nominations for the 69th annual Grammy kudos will be revealed on November 16. The ceremony will originate live from Crypto.com Arena in downtown Los Angeles. No official word on a producer yet, but it is expected that Ben Winston will continue steering the event since 2021.
Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Grammys, said, "The Grammys are all about celebrating music that moves the world, and this moment is built on exactly that," he added. "This is an exciting time for us as an organization — a new home and a bold new chapter for the Grammy Awards. We’re just getting started, and the best is yet to come." He emphasized the shift reflects a broader trend toward embracing digital platforms.
Disney and ABC are mounting a big promotional push to highlight the Grammys relocation. Rita Ferro, Disney’s president of global advertising, spoke Monday’s "Daily Variety" podcast about the event’s importance to the Mouse House’s TV strategy for 2027. She noted, "Come January, we have four of the biggest live events across entertainment and sports — including the college football championship. Then we go to the first time ever the Grammys will be on ABC and across our streaming platforms," she said.
As usual, the eligibility period runs from August 31, 2025, through August 31, 2026. First-round voting is scheduled from October 12–22, 2026, and final round voting from December 10–July 7, 2027.
