A man in Queensland, Australia, has been charged with threatening multiple federal politicians on social media. The threatening messages were posted on the platform X (formerly Twitter) between December 10 and December 15 last year. Australian Federal Police allegedly linked the account to a 39-year-old man. During a raid on a unit in Woodridge, Logan, Queensland, on December 19, officers seized swords, axes, and electronic files. Police claim that the records of the social media threats were found on the man's mobile phone and desktop computer. He was charged with one count of using a carriage service to menace or harass, which could result in a maximum of five years in jail if found guilty. Despite the charges, he was granted bail and is expected to appear in court today.
